| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jon Gonzales of San Antonio has earned great |

| 7 | 7 | | Hispanic Recognition Program for 2008-2009; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, An initiative of the College Board, the National |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Hispanic Recognition Program honors those Hispanic students who |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | score well on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholar Qualifying |

| 11 | 11 | | Test and who maintain a satisfactory grade point average; and |

| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzales is a senior at John Marshall High |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | School in San Antonio, where he has served as president of the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | University Interscholastic League Math and Science teams, the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | percussion section leader for the marching band, and a member of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | National Honor Society; recognized as an AP Scholar with |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | distinction and a commended National Merit Scholar, he plans to |

| 18 | 18 | | study materials engineering and economics at Harvard University; |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Soon to embark on an exciting new chapter in his |

| 21 | 21 | | life, Jon Gonzales may indeed reflect with pride on all that he has |

| 22 | 22 | | achieved and look with anticipation toward a bright and promising |
