| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Three graduating seniors, Emma Leigh Rodriguez, |

| 6 | 6 | | Jonathan Suiter, and Christine Folger, have been awarded |

| 7 | 7 | | scholarships for their outstanding service with Midland Teen Court; |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, For more than 22 years, Midland Teen Court has |

| 10 | 10 | | provided an alternative system of justice for young offenders as |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | well as an invaluable educational opportunity for student |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | volunteers who fill courtroom assignments as teen attorneys and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | jurors; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Rodriguez, the daughter of Henry and Isabel |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Rodriguez, plans to prepare for law school at Midland College and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | The University of Texas of the Permian Basin; the son of Jeff and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Kathy Suiter, Mr. Suiter intends to major in speech pathology and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | deaf education at Midland College and Texas State University; Ms. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Folger, whose parents are Richard and Lois Folger, is looking |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | forward to attending Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, These fine young Texans have contributed to the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | well-being of their community while learning important lessons |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | about our system of justice, and they are indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | recognition for their efforts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Emma Leigh Rodriguez, Jonathan |

| 27 | 27 | | Suiter, and Christine Folger on receiving scholarships from Midland |
