44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Three graduating seniors, Emma Leigh Rodriguez,
66 Jonathan Suiter, and Christine Folger, have been awarded
77 scholarships for their outstanding service with Midland Teen Court;

99 WHEREAS, For more than 22 years, Midland Teen Court has
1010 provided an alternative system of justice for young offenders as
1111 well as an invaluable educational opportunity for student
1212 volunteers who fill courtroom assignments as teen attorneys and
1313 jurors; and
1414 WHEREAS, Ms. Rodriguez, the daughter of Henry and Isabel
1515 Rodriguez, plans to prepare for law school at Midland College and
1616 The University of Texas of the Permian Basin; the son of Jeff and
1717 Kathy Suiter, Mr. Suiter intends to major in speech pathology and
1818 deaf education at Midland College and Texas State University; Ms.
1919 Folger, whose parents are Richard and Lois Folger, is looking
2020 forward to attending Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.; and
2121 WHEREAS, These fine young Texans have contributed to the
2222 well-being of their community while learning important lessons
2323 about our system of justice, and they are indeed deserving of
2424 recognition for their efforts; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Emma Leigh Rodriguez, Jonathan
2727 Suiter, and Christine Folger on receiving scholarships from Midland
2828 Teen Court and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future;
2929 and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
3232 Texas House of Representatives.
