5	5	WHEREAS, Thad Bonduris of Denton completed his master's
6	6	degree in music education at the University of North Texas in
7	7	December 2008, and he is indeed deserving of recognition for this
8	8	admirable achievement; and
9	9	WHEREAS, A San Antonio native who graduated from Robert E.
10	10	Lee High School in 1969, Mr. Bonduris went on to attend San Antonio
11	11	College and earned a bachelor's degree from Trinity University in
12	12	1973; his music studies at the University of North Texas began in
13	13	the mid-1970s, and he returned to take up his master's degree course
14	14	work in 2003; and
15	15	WHEREAS, Mr. Bonduris has been a professional musician since
16	16	1970 and joined the Metroplex music scene four years later;
17	17	renowned for his abilities as a guitarist, he has played in a
18	18	variety of musical groups, leading his own ensembles, the
19	19	Fun-Addix, Fanatix, and Fabulous Echoes bands, and also performing
20	20	with other acts and backing music legends such as Ray Price and
21	21	Ernest Tubb; since 1997, he has headed Bonduris Music Ensembles,
22	22	which provides a variety of musical entertainment for various
23	23	functions; and
24	24	WHEREAS, Skilled and experienced as a music teacher, Mr.
25	25	Bonduris has offered private and group instruction through his
26	26	company, Bonduris Music, since 1982; he has also taught at Hammond
27	27	Music Company, for public schools and continuing education courses,
28	28	and at the National Guitar Summer Workshop; and
29	29	WHEREAS, This talented musician has further demonstrated his
30	30	abilities in the recording studio, serving as a session player and
31	31	producer, and he is affiliated with numerous music and arts
32	32	organizations; in all of his endeavors, he enjoys the love and
33	33	support of his wife, Kathryn, his daughters, Heather and Nicole,
34	34	and his stepson, Jed; and
35	35	WHEREAS, Already well-established in the local music
36	36	community, Thad Bonduris has furthered his knowledge through the
37	37	completion of his graduate studies at UNT, and he may take
38	38	justifiable pride in his degree as well as in the notable career he
39	39	has built over the past four decades; now, therefore, be it
40	40	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
41	41	Legislature hereby congratulate Thad Bonduris on earning a master's
42	42	degree in music education at the University of North Texas and
43	43	extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
44	44	further
45	45	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
46	46	prepared for Mr. Bonduris as an expression of high regard by the
47	47	Texas House of Representatives.
