| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately convey the heartache felt at |

| 6 | 6 | | the loss of Staff Sergeant Jimy Mac Malone of Wills Point, who died |

| 7 | 7 | | on June 23, 2007, while bravely serving his country in Taji, Iraq; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Malone was born on July 27, 1983, in Irving |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | to Martin and Vicky Malone; raised in Wills Point, he graduated from |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Wills Point High School in 2002 and attended the Kilgore Fire |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Academy before fulfilling his lifelong dream of enlisting in the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | U.S. Army on June 19, 2002; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Training at Fort Knox, Sergeant Malone was stationed |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | at Fort Hood before his deployment to Iraq as a member of 1st |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Cavalry Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Battalion, 8th |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Cavalry Regiment, Delta Company; he was serving his second tour of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | duty at the time he was killed, and his courageous efforts earned |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | him the Bronze Star and Purple Heart; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A devoted husband, Sergeant Malone was married to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the former Leslie Diane Tisdale, and he was thrilled to be a new |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | father to his daughter, Reagan Allison; he attended the First |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Baptist Church in Wills Point and was known for his exuberance and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | determination; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | women whose love of country inspires them to take up military |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | service; Sergeant Jimy Mac Malone embodied the highest ideals of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | the U.S. Armed Forces, and those who knew and loved him will forever |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | carry him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Staff Sergeant Jimy |
