| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately convey the heartache felt |

| 6 | 6 | | at the loss of U.S. Army Sergeant Gregory Daniel Unruh of Dickinson, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | who died in Iraq on March 19, 2008, at the age of 28; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Nicknamed "Professor" by his platoon, Gregory Unruh |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | graduated from high school at the age of 16 and went on to earn his |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | bachelor's degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake; he |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | hoped to one day attend law school; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Unruh joined the army at the age of 26 and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | based out of Fort Hood; he left behind his beloved wife, Nimet, when |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | he was deployed to Iraq; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | women whose love for their country inspires them to take up military |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | service; Gregory Unruh was a soldier of honor and valor, and the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | thoughts and prayers of many go out to the family of this courageous |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | young man; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Gregory |

| 23 | 23 | | Daniel Unruh and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |

| 24 | 24 | | family: to his wife, Nimet Unruh; to his parents, Anthony and Sue |

| 25 | 25 | | Unruh; to his sister, Tonya Unruh-Manous and her husband, Cliff; to |

| 26 | 26 | | his brothers, Phillip Unruh, Thomas Unruh and his wife, Denise, and |

| 27 | 27 | | Jeremy Unruh and his wife, Tiffany; to his nephew, Conner Unruh; to |
