| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Joe and Ora Williams of Midland |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on April 20, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Joe L. Williams and the former Ora Lee Johnson were |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | united in matrimony in Midland in 1953; through the years, they have |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the addition of four children, Robert, Joe, Janice, and Loree, as |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Williams worked at a chemical company for 26 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | years before establishing his own trucking business in 1983; he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | retired in 2002, and today he is a member of Tall City Lions Club and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | a deacon at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | couple are both members; Mrs. Williams has been a dedicated |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | homemaker throughout their marriage; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | world during the past 56 years, this devoted husband and wife have |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Joe and Ora Williams on their 56th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | continued happiness; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
