44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
66 by a great and enduring love, Joe and Ora Williams of Midland
77 celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on April 20, 2009; and
88 WHEREAS, Joe L. Williams and the former Ora Lee Johnson were
99 united in matrimony in Midland in 1953; through the years, they have
1010 nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with
1111 the addition of four children, Robert, Joe, Janice, and Loree, as
1212 well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and
1313 WHEREAS, Mr. Williams worked at a chemical company for 26
1414 years before establishing his own trucking business in 1983; he
1515 retired in 2002, and today he is a member of Tall City Lions Club and
1616 a deacon at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where the
1717 couple are both members; Mrs. Williams has been a dedicated
1818 homemaker throughout their marriage; and
1919 WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
2020 world during the past 56 years, this devoted husband and wife have
2121 remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
2222 strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
2323 and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby congratulate Joe and Ora Williams on their 56th
2626 wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
2727 continued happiness; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Williams as an expression of high regard
3030 by the Texas House of Representatives.
