| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Phil and Glenda Houston of El Campo |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 27, 2009; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Philip Clay Houston, Jr., and the former Glenda Jo |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Morrison were united in matrimony at the First United Methodist |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Church in Lubbock in 1959, and through the years, they have found in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | each other a devoted life partner; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Houston count among their blessings a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fine family that includes their children, Karl Houston and his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | wife, Rhonda, Kenneth Houston and his wife, Pamela, and Kirk |

| 15 | 15 | | Houston and his wife, Tamara, and six grandchildren, Justin and |

| 16 | 16 | | Kimberly Jo Houston Piwetz, Kenneth John Houston, Philip Clay |

| 17 | 17 | | Houston III, Alice Marie Houston, and Paul Michael Houston; and |

| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |

| 19 | 19 | | world during the past five decades, this devoted husband and wife |

| 20 | 20 | | have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Phil and Glenda Houston on their |

| 25 | 25 | | golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
