R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned half a
century, Victor and Laurine Poncik of Louise celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on April 4, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Victor Poncik and the former Laurine Orsag exchanged
the vows of matrimony at St. Procopius Catholic Church in Louise on
that day in 1959, and over the course of their marriage, they have
found in each other a devoted life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Poncik count among their blessings a
fine family that includes a daughter, Belinda Bain, and a son,
Bruce, with whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions
of life; and
WHEREAS, Residents of Wharton County throughout their
marriage, Mr. Poncik is a truck driver for Rice Farmers Co-op and
Mrs. Poncik serves as office manager for Gresham Trucking; and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Victor and
Laurine Poncik can savor a wealth of treasured memories and know
that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that many
more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Victor and Laurine Poncik on the
occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Poncik as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
