| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The 80th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | cause for celebration, and Eva Lee Perry Jatho of Austin is reaching |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | that notable milestone in her life on February 10, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Eva Perry was born in 1929, the second of five |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | children of Grace and Doris Perry of Waelder; she moved to Austin |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | with her family seven years later and graduated from Austin High |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | School with the Class of 1947; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, She wed John Chernosky in 1949 and became the mother |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of three children, Carol, Tommy, and John; later, she married |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Donald Jatho, who had two children of his own, Sheryl and Donnie, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and together Mr. and Mrs. Jatho raised their blended family with |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | love and devotion; this caring woman taught all of her children the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | importance of faith, family, loyalty, responsibility, diligence, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and industry, and her guidance has helped them to find success in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | their various endeavors; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Once her children were grown, Mrs. Jatho reentered |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the workforce by taking a job at the Texas Insurance Checking |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Office; over the course of her 26 years of dedicated service, she |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | rose steadily through the ranks and attained the position of senior |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | technician by the time of her retirement in 1994; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Jatho maintains an active schedule in her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | retirement, spending time traveling and involving herself in |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | functions of Hyde Park United Methodist Church; in addition, she |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | makes it a point to take a brisk walk every morning to keep fit, and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | she has the pleasure of spending a lot of time with her 15 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Eva Jatho has dedicated herself |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | to her family and her work, and she may indeed take great |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | satisfaction in her many achievements as she reflects on eight |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | decades of life well lived; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Legislature hereby honor Eva Lee Perry Jatho on the occasion of her |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 80th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | happiness; and, be it further |

| 39 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
