| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Sergeant First |

| 6 | 6 | | Class Miguel Antonio Wilson of Bonham suffered an immeasurable loss |

| 7 | 7 | | with the death of this valiant soldier on November 21, 2008, at the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | age of 36; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Regiment, Sergeant Wilson was killed while saving the life of a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | fellow soldier in Abu Sayf, Iraq; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Born on December 26, 1971, to Wanda Wilson and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Michael Cook, he graduated from Bonham High School in 1990, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | married, and became the father of three children, Bryce, J'Nai, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Lexus; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Wilson joined the military in January 1997, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and his skill and dedication to duty earned him many honors, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | including the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Medal, and Army Achievement Medal; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through his unwavering dedication to duty and honor, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Miguel Wilson embodied the highest ideals of the United States |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | armed forces, and his fellow citizens owe him a debt of gratitude |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | that the passage of time can never diminish; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Sergeant |

| 26 | 26 | | First Class Miguel Antonio Wilson and extend sincere sympathy to |

| 27 | 27 | | the members of his family: to his wife, Carolyn; to his children, |
