| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Stella Mae Nash of Houston has long distinguished |

| 6 | 6 | | herself in her community, and her leadership and generosity of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | spirit have earned her the heartfelt admiration of all who know her; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, this esteemed Texan is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the wife of the Reverend James E. Nash, with whom she has shared |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | half a century of marriage and raised six children; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Mrs. Nash has benefited her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fellow citizens in myriad ways, and her volunteerism includes |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | assisting senior citizens and area youth and serving as a precinct |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | chair; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Nash has also made a positive difference in her |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | work with Houston Hope, an organization that builds homes for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | individuals in need, and she is a leader in the congregation of St. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Paul Missionary Baptist Church as well; in her free time, she enjoys |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | doting on her 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and going |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | saltwater fishing; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and it is a pleasure to honor Mrs. Nash, who has enriched the lives |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | of countless others with her dedicated community service; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commend Stella Mae Nash for her many good works |
