5	5	WHEREAS, Elizabeth Beasley has contributed greatly to the
6	6	betterment of her community for many years; and
7	7	WHEREAS, Born in Galveston, Ms. Beasley has lived in Houston
8	8	for more than four decades; until her retirement, she worked in
9	9	retail and as an aide at St. Joseph Medical Center; and
10	10	WHEREAS, Through her work with the Southcrest Community
11	11	Improvement Association, including service as the association's
12	12	president, Ms. Beasley has played a vital role in enhancing the
13	13	quality of life enjoyed by her fellow citizens; and
14	14	WHEREAS, A woman of strong religious faith, she has been
15	15	active in Wesley Chapel AME Church, serving as a lay worker, as a
16	16	volunteer in the church nursery, and as the "coffee lady"; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Elizabeth Beasley has distinguished herself as an
18	18	engaged and caring individual who gives generously of her time and
19	19	energy in behalf of others, and she may indeed take pride in the
20	20	positive impact she has made in the lives of her friends and
21	21	neighbors; now, therefore, be it
22	22	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
23	23	Legislature hereby commend Elizabeth Beasley on her service to her
24	24	community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
25	25	happiness; and, be it further
26	26	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
27	27	prepared for Ms. Beasley as an expression of high regard by the
28	28	Texas House of Representatives.
