44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The Reverend Darrell Martin of Houston has
66 distinguished himself through his service to the community, and his
77 outstanding leadership and generosity of spirit have earned him the
88 heartfelt admiration of all who know him; and
99 WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, Reverend Martin
1010 graduated from Kashmere High School and began a notable career in
1111 radio that includes service as station manager of KWWJ and the
1212 establishment of the Martin Broadcasting Network; over the years,
1313 he has benefited his fellow residents by filling the airwaves with
1414 uplifting gospel music; and
1515 WHEREAS, Reverend Martin has also made a positive difference
1616 as a leader in the congregation at New Day Deliverance Holiness
1717 Church; devoted to his wife, Brenda, and their three children, he
1818 values living a healthy lifestyle and enjoys cheering on the
1919 Rockets in his free time; and
2020 WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their
2121 time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude,
2222 and it is a pleasure to honor Reverend Martin, who has enriched the
2323 lives of countless others with his dedicated community service;
2424 now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby commend the Reverend Darrell Martin for his
2727 noteworthy service to the people of Houston and extend to him
2828 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Reverend Martin as an expression of high regard by the
3131 Texas House of Representatives.
