| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Reverend Darrell Martin of Houston has |

| 6 | 6 | | distinguished himself through his service to the community, and his |

| 7 | 7 | | outstanding leadership and generosity of spirit have earned him the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | heartfelt admiration of all who know him; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, Reverend Martin |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | graduated from Kashmere High School and began a notable career in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | radio that includes service as station manager of KWWJ and the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | establishment of the Martin Broadcasting Network; over the years, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | he has benefited his fellow residents by filling the airwaves with |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | uplifting gospel music; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Reverend Martin has also made a positive difference |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | as a leader in the congregation at New Day Deliverance Holiness |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Church; devoted to his wife, Brenda, and their three children, he |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | values living a healthy lifestyle and enjoys cheering on the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Rockets in his free time; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and it is a pleasure to honor Reverend Martin, who has enriched the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | lives of countless others with his dedicated community service; |

| 24 | 24 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend the Reverend Darrell Martin for his |

| 27 | 27 | | noteworthy service to the people of Houston and extend to him |
