5	5	WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Rabbi Joseph Ruben
6	6	Radinsky of the United Orthodox Synagogues of Houston has
7	7	faithfully served the spiritual needs of his community, and his
8	8	genuine regard for the welfare of others has enriched the lives of
9	9	countless people; and
10	10	WHEREAS, Rabbi Radinsky studied at Yeshiva University and
11	11	earned a master's degree in English from the University of
12	12	Washington and a master's in comparative literature from Harvard
13	13	University; he was ordained by the Hebrew Theological College; and
14	14	WHEREAS, In 1976, Rabbi Radinsky joined the United Orthodox
15	15	Synagogues of Houston; during his distinguished service as rabbi,
16	16	he chaired the Houston Kashruth Association, the Houston Chevra
17	17	Kadisha, and the Rabbinic Cabinet of the Houston Israel Bonds, and
18	18	he was a member of the executive board of the Rabbinical Council of
19	19	America and of the UJA Rabbinic Cabinet; he has also served as
20	20	president of the Kallah of Texas Rabbis and of the Houston Rabbinic
21	21	Association; in 2003, he accepted emeritus status; and
22	22	WHEREAS, This dynamic leader has published nine volumes of
23	23	his theological work Torah Concepts; a devoted family man, he is
24	24	supported in all his endeavors by his wife, Juliette Radinsky, and
25	25	their 3 children and 11 grandchildren; and
26	26	WHEREAS, Rabbi Radinsky has demonstrated a wholehearted
27	27	commitment to the United Orthodox Synagogues of Houston and to the
28	28	wider community, and his faith, scholarship, and many good works
29	29	have been a source of profound inspiration to all who know him; now,
30	30	therefore, be it
31	31	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
32	32	Legislature hereby honor Rabbi Joseph Radinsky for his service to
33	33	the community and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
34	34	and, be it further
35	35	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
36	36	prepared for Rabbi Radinsky as an expression of high regard by the
37	37	Texas House of Representatives.
