| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Jeff Berger of Houston is making a |

| 6 | 6 | | significant contribution to the betterment of his community as a |

| 7 | 7 | | dedicated clergyman and caring citizen; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Berger earned a bachelor's degree in radio |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | and television from the University of Houston in 1992, a master of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Fort Worth in 1996, and a doctor of ministry degree from New Orleans |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Since answering the call from Westbury Baptist |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Church, Pastor Berger has led a vibrant congregation and overseen a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | host of church ministries; one of the newest outreach endeavors is |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Westbury's adoption of McNamara Elementary School; at the end of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the first year of this partnership, Reverend Berger and the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Westbury church family have already made a positive difference at |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | McNamara, where a number of volunteers from the church have shared |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | their time and energy to assist the students, teachers, and staff; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Berger enjoys the love and support of a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | treasured family, whose members include his wife, Carrie, daughter, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Kayleigh, and son, Will; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Jeff Berger has demonstrated a wholehearted |

| 26 | 26 | | commitment to his congregation and the wider community, and his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | faith, teaching, and many good works are a source of inspiration to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | all who know him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor Pastor Jeff Berger for his contributions |

| 31 | 31 | | to the citizens of Houston and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
