44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Pastor Jeff Berger of Houston is making a
66 significant contribution to the betterment of his community as a
77 dedicated clergyman and caring citizen; and
88 WHEREAS, Pastor Berger earned a bachelor's degree in radio
99 and television from the University of Houston in 1992, a master of
1010 divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in
1111 Fort Worth in 1996, and a doctor of ministry degree from New Orleans
1212 Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006; and
1313 WHEREAS, Since answering the call from Westbury Baptist
1414 Church, Pastor Berger has led a vibrant congregation and overseen a
1515 host of church ministries; one of the newest outreach endeavors is
1616 Westbury's adoption of McNamara Elementary School; at the end of
1717 the first year of this partnership, Reverend Berger and the
1818 Westbury church family have already made a positive difference at
1919 McNamara, where a number of volunteers from the church have shared
2020 their time and energy to assist the students, teachers, and staff;
2121 and
2222 WHEREAS, Pastor Berger enjoys the love and support of a
2323 treasured family, whose members include his wife, Carrie, daughter,
2424 Kayleigh, and son, Will; and
2525 WHEREAS, Pastor Jeff Berger has demonstrated a wholehearted
2626 commitment to his congregation and the wider community, and his
2727 faith, teaching, and many good works are a source of inspiration to
2828 all who know him; now, therefore, be it
2929 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3030 Legislature hereby honor Pastor Jeff Berger for his contributions
3131 to the citizens of Houston and extend to him sincere best wishes for
3232 the future; and, be it further
3333 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3434 prepared for Pastor Berger as an expression of high regard by the
3535 Texas House of Representatives.
