R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Crestview Baptist Church in Midland is celebrating
the dedication of its new facility on July 19, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the past 55 years, Crestview Baptist
Church has played a vital role in the community; providing area
residents with myriad opportunities for spiritual growth, it offers
a number of worthwhile programs, including mission trips,
children's ministries, and support groups; and
WHEREAS, The congregation has benefited from the able
leadership of a number of dedicated pastors, and today that
tradition of service continues under the direction of Dr. John D.
Gerlach; and
WHEREAS, Sustained by a common purpose, warm fellowship, and
inspired teaching, the members of Crestview Baptist Church have
remained steadfast in their faith and in their ministry to the world
around them, and it is a pleasure to join in commemorating this
special milestone in the life of their church; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby honor Crestview Baptist Church of Midland on the
dedication of its new facility and extend sincere best wishes for a
memorable and meaningful celebration to all who are participating
in this notable event; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
