| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Crestview Baptist Church in Midland is celebrating |

| 6 | 6 | | the dedication of its new facility on July 19, 2009; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Throughout the past 55 years, Crestview Baptist |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Church has played a vital role in the community; providing area |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | residents with myriad opportunities for spiritual growth, it offers |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | a number of worthwhile programs, including mission trips, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | children's ministries, and support groups; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The congregation has benefited from the able |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | leadership of a number of dedicated pastors, and today that |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | tradition of service continues under the direction of Dr. John D. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Gerlach; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Sustained by a common purpose, warm fellowship, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | inspired teaching, the members of Crestview Baptist Church have |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | remained steadfast in their faith and in their ministry to the world |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | around them, and it is a pleasure to join in commemorating this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | special milestone in the life of their church; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby honor Crestview Baptist Church of Midland on the |

| 23 | 23 | | dedication of its new facility and extend sincere best wishes for a |

| 24 | 24 | | memorable and meaningful celebration to all who are participating |

|---|
