| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to |

| 6 | 6 | | honor Erika Martinez for her outstanding work as an intern in the |

| 7 | 7 | | office of State Representative Eddie Rodriguez; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas State University with a master's |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | degree in social work, Ms. Martinez hails from a town in Louisiana |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | so obscure that no one knows its name, and she keeps toy alligators |

| 11 | 11 | | on her desk to remind her of home; true to her Cajun heritage, she |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | will not eat meat off the bone, but will happily suck the brains out |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of crustaceans; she is emphatic that her name is pronounced in the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Cajun fashion, as "Mar-tin-ez"; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Despite her Louisianan eccentricities, Ms. Martinez |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | has been an invaluable member of the office team, happily taking on |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | any work assigned to her, even tasks outside her official duties, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | which she executes with the best handwriting in the office; she was |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | invariably friendly and helpful, repeatedly bringing back food for |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the entire office from the farthest reaches of the Capitol lawn; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Erika Martinez has made important contributions to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the State of Texas during the current session, and it is most |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | fitting to recognize her for a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby commend Erika Martinez for her service as an |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | intern in the office of State Representative Eddie Rodriguez and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
