| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members of Leadership Killeen are visiting the State |

| 6 | 6 | | Capitol on March 18, 2009, to gain further insight into the workings |

| 7 | 7 | | of state government; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1986 by the Greater Killeen Chamber |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of Commerce, this exceptional program provides opportunities for |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Killeen residents to increase their knowledge of vital public |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | issues and to meet with the legislators and local officials who are |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | making decisions that affect this state; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Sessions throughout the yearlong program are |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | designed to acquaint participants with local issues and to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | encourage them to become vigorous, skilled, and effective |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | contributors to the growth and direction of their communities; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | citizenry and to develop new leaders in Killeen, the program is |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Star State; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby recognize March 18, 2009, as Leadership Killeen |

| 23 | 23 | | Day at the State Capitol and extend to all visitors from Leadership |
