| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The friends and family of Waxahachie resident Joseph |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Edmund Lane were deeply saddened by his passing on January 15, 2009, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 80; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mr. Lane was born on |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | October 15, 1928, in Wichita Falls, where he attended the Academy of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Mary Immaculate and Reagan High School; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lane served a notable 37-year tenure with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Texaco; he joined the company in 1951, and he worked as a pipeliner, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | station operator, and station supervisor before his retirement in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1988; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Lane lived a rewarding and purposeful life, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and memories of time spent in his company will be forever treasured |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | by all who had the good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joseph Edmund Lane and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Doris; to his children, Joel and Kaye Lane, Danny and Sandy Lane, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Connie and Sam Boone, Andy and Janice Lane, Steve and Lisa Lane, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Valerie and Rex McCallister, and Teena and Darrell Moore; to the |

| 24 | 24 | | mother of his children, Marcella Lane; to his 17 grandchildren and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | eight great-grandchildren; to his stepchildren, Jay Lee and Sharon |

| 26 | 26 | | Beck, Cindy and Steve Buchanan, and Gerald and Natalie Beck; to his |
