No. 2679 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The passing of William Otto Edwards, Jr., of Waxahachie, Texas, on January 19, 2009, at the age of 82, has brought a profoundly felt loss to the family and friends of this beloved gentleman; and WHEREAS, Bill Edwards was born to William Otto Edwards, Sr., and Olga Vashti Roberts Edwards on May 24, 1926; he served his country with distinction in World War II and had a notable career with ADP Tool Design LTV Aerospace and Defense Company, where he worked as a manager; and WHEREAS, Married for more than six decades to his wife, June, he was a devoted father to his sons, Patrick, Joseph, and the late Michael David Edwards; he attended Park Meadows Baptist Church, and earlier had been active at Wynnewood Baptist Church in Oak Cliff, where he served the congregation as a deacon and sang in the choir; also a Master Mason, he was a member of the Mason Grand Lodge of Texas in Oak Cliff; and WHEREAS, Mr. Edwards was a talented tool designer and inventor, and he enjoyed his dogs and birds and going fishing; and WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Bill Edwards will remember his enduring love of family and community, and although he will be dearly missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he so richly blessed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William Otto Edwards and that deepest sympathy be extended to the members of his family: to his wife, June Edwards; to his sons, Patrick Thomas Edwards and his wife, Nancy, and Joseph Donald Edwards and his wife, Helen; to his daughter-in-law, Janet Edwards; to his grandchildren, Chris Edwards and his wife, Niecy, Ryan Edwards, Casey Edwards, April Moon and her husband, Trey, Chess Edwards, William Edwards, and Bobby Kelly; to his great-grandchildren, Tyler Edwards, Brady Moon, Braxton Moon, Crystal Edwards, and Christopher Edwards; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William Otto Edwards, Jr.
