5	5	WHEREAS, The passing of William Otto Edwards, Jr., of
6	6	Waxahachie, Texas, on January 19, 2009, at the age of 82, has
7	7	brought a profoundly felt loss to the family and friends of this
8	8	beloved gentleman; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Bill Edwards was born to William Otto Edwards, Sr.,
10	10	and Olga Vashti Roberts Edwards on May 24, 1926; he served his
11	11	country with distinction in World War II and had a notable career
12	12	with ADP Tool Design LTV Aerospace and Defense Company, where he
13	13	worked as a manager; and
14	14	WHEREAS, Married for more than six decades to his wife, June,
15	15	he was a devoted father to his sons, Patrick, Joseph, and the late
16	16	Michael David Edwards; he attended Park Meadows Baptist Church, and
17	17	earlier had been active at Wynnewood Baptist Church in Oak Cliff,
18	18	where he served the congregation as a deacon and sang in the choir;
19	19	also a Master Mason, he was a member of the Mason Grand Lodge of
20	20	Texas in Oak Cliff; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Mr. Edwards was a talented tool designer and
22	22	inventor, and he enjoyed his dogs and birds and going fishing; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Bill Edwards
24	24	will remember his enduring love of family and community, and
25	25	although he will be dearly missed, his legacy will live on in the
26	26	hearts of those whose lives he so richly blessed; now, therefore, be
27	27	it
28	28	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
29	29	Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William Otto Edwards
30	30	and that deepest sympathy be extended to the members of his family:
31	31	to his wife, June Edwards; to his sons, Patrick Thomas Edwards and
32	32	his wife, Nancy, and Joseph Donald Edwards and his wife, Helen; to
33	33	his daughter-in-law, Janet Edwards; to his grandchildren, Chris
34	34	Edwards and his wife, Niecy, Ryan Edwards, Casey Edwards, April
35	35	Moon and her husband, Trey, Chess Edwards, William Edwards, and
36	36	Bobby Kelly; to his great-grandchildren, Tyler Edwards, Brady Moon,
37	37	Braxton Moon, Crystal Edwards, and Christopher Edwards; and to his
38	38	other relatives and friends; and, be it further
39	39	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
40	40	prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
41	41	Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William
42	42	Otto Edwards, Jr.
