R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Stacie Kathryn Townsend has been named a 2009
University of Texas at El Paso Top Ten Senior; and
WHEREAS, Presented annually by the institution's alumni
association, the honor recognizes UTEP's most promising graduating
or recently graduated seniors, who are chosen on the basis of
academic achievement, involvement, leadership, and service, both
in the community and on campus; and
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Townsend was
recognized for her achievements in her field of study, business
administration, as well as for her talent and success as a member of
the UTEP softball team; she has been named to the Conference USA
All-Academic Team and C-USA First Team; she plans to pursue an MBA
at UTEP; and
WHEREAS, Stacie Townsend has demonstrated exceptional
initiative and dedication in pursuit of her academic goals, and her
notable record of accomplishment surely heralds a bright future;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Stacie Kathryn Townsend on being
named a Top Ten Senior at The University of Texas at El Paso and
extend to her sincere best wishes on the occasion of her graduation;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Townsend as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
