H.R. No. 2712
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Laura Irene Busch has been named a 2009 University
of Texas at El Paso Top Ten Senior; and
WHEREAS, Presented annually by the institution's alumni
association, the honor recognizes UTEP's most promising graduating
or recently graduated seniors, who are chosen on the basis of
academic achievement, involvement, leadership, and service, both
in the community and on campus; and
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Busch was
recognized for her achievements in her field of study,
communications, and for her service as president of Lambda Pi Eta
and Sigma Alpha Lambda Honor Societies; this talented student has
also been honored with the Outstanding Senior Award for
Communication Studies and Film Studies; and
WHEREAS, Laura Busch has demonstrated exceptional initiative
and dedication in pursuit of her academic goals, and her notable
record of accomplishment surely heralds a bright future; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Laura Irene Busch on being named a
Top Ten Senior at The University of Texas at El Paso and extend to
her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Busch as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
