H.R. No. 2713
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Mirna Cecilia Contreras has been named a 2009
University of Texas at El Paso Top Ten Senior; and
WHEREAS, Presented annually by the institution's alumni
association, the honor recognizes UTEP's most promising graduating
or recently graduated seniors, who are chosen on the basis of
academic achievement, involvement, leadership, and service, both
in the community and on campus; and
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Contreras
graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in
interdisciplinary studies and served as vice president of Kappa
Delta Pi; this talented student is currently pursuing her master's
degree in education and special instruction at UTEP; and
WHEREAS, Mirna Contreras has demonstrated exceptional
initiative and dedication in pursuit of her academic goals, and her
notable record of accomplishment surely heralds a bright future;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Mirna Cecilia Contreras on being
named a Top Ten Senior at The University of Texas at El Paso and
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Contreras as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
