| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mirna Cecilia Contreras has been named a 2009 |

| 6 | 6 | | University of Texas at El Paso Top Ten Senior; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Presented annually by the institution's alumni |

| 8 | 8 | | association, the honor recognizes UTEP's most promising graduating |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | or recently graduated seniors, who are chosen on the basis of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | academic achievement, involvement, leadership, and service, both |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the community and on campus; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Contreras |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | interdisciplinary studies and served as vice president of Kappa |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Delta Pi; this talented student is currently pursuing her master's |

| 16 | 16 | | degree in education and special instruction at UTEP; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mirna Contreras has demonstrated exceptional |

| 18 | 18 | | initiative and dedication in pursuit of her academic goals, and her |

| 19 | 19 | | notable record of accomplishment surely heralds a bright future; |
