| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ismael Lara has been named a 2009 University of |

| 6 | 6 | | Texas at El Paso Top Ten Senior; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Presented annually by the institution's alumni |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | association, the honor recognizes UTEP's most promising graduating |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | or recently graduated seniors, who are chosen on the basis of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | academic achievement, involvement, leadership, and service, both |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the community and on campus; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Mr. Lara was recognized |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | for his achievements in his major, interdisciplinary studies in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | education, as well as for his service as chapter president of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education; this |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | talented student transferred to UTEP from El Paso Community College |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and has maintained a 4.0 GPA while sharing his time with a number of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | worthwhile service organizations; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Ismael Lara has demonstrated exceptional initiative |

| 20 | 20 | | and dedication in pursuit of his academic goals, and his notable |

| 21 | 21 | | record of accomplishment surely heralds a bright future; now, |
