R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Adriana Gomez Licon has been named a 2009 University
of Texas at El Paso Top Ten Senior; and
WHEREAS, Presented annually by the institution's alumni
association, the honor recognizes UTEP's most promising graduating
or recently graduated seniors, who are chosen on the basis of
academic achievement, involvement, leadership, and service, both
in the community and on campus; and
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Licon was
recognized for her achievements in her field of study, print media,
for her service as editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, the
Prospector, and for her work as an intern with the Albuquerque
Tribune; and
WHEREAS, Adriana Licon has demonstrated exceptional
initiative and dedication in pursuit of her academic goals, and her
notable record of accomplishment surely heralds a bright future;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Adriana Gomez Licon on being named
a Top Ten Senior at The University of Texas at El Paso and extend to
her sincere best wishes on the occasion of her graduation; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Licon as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
