| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to |

| 6 | 6 | | honor Juan Garcia-Lascurain for his outstanding work as an intern |

| 7 | 7 | | in the office of State Representative Debbie Riddle; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Thanks to his nighttime gig fronting the local |

| 9 | 9 | | reggae sensation The Darby Drivers, Juan Garcia-Lascurain is the |

| 10 | 10 | | office's own American Idol, a distinction that has enabled him to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | successfully grow his hair longer than that of any other male intern |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | in recent memory; despite the fatigue that ensues from balancing |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | school with holding a day job on a rock star's schedule, he always |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | manages to get the job done and to file away office materials at a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | remarkable rate of speed, especially for a musician; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Garcia-Lascurain's peaceful, Rastaman vibe came |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in handy in dealing with phone calls from irate constituents, which |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | he handled with astonishing equanimity; like Moses, who labored |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | long and hard without entering the promised land, Mr. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Garcia-Lascurain also put in extraordinary effort on a number of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | research projects that will not come to fruition until long after he |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | has earned his first platinum album; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Now a former college student with a degree under his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | belt, Juan Garcia-Lascurain will turn his calm demeanor and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | considerable talents to new challenges, and it is most fitting to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | recognize him for a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commend Juan Garcia-Lascurain for his service as |

| 29 | 29 | | an intern in the office of State Representative Debbie Riddle and |

| 30 | 30 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
