H.R. No. 2734 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Susan Durham, executive director of the South Texans' Property Rights Association, has distinguished herself through her passionate community engagement; and WHEREAS, Ms. Durham has led STPRA since its founding in 2006; the STPRA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about the rights of property owners and working to resolve issues relating to eminent domain, water rights, indemnity, government regulation, and trespassing; and WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of South Texas, Ms. Durham studied business at Texas A&M University at Kingsville and has 35 years' experience as a rancher; she currently runs the 1,400-acre El Tule Ranch in Jim Wells County, and her previous experience includes owning and operating a wildlife breeding business; and WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan has further served her fellow citizens as programs chair for the Charity Department of the Woman's Club of Kingsville; moreover, she is an active member of the First United Methodist Church; and WHEREAS, Committed to bettering the region she is proud to call home, Susan Durham is helping to make a positive difference among landowners and others in South Texas, and she is indeed deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend Susan Durham for her contributions to her community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Durham as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
