| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Susan Durham, executive director of the South |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Texans' Property Rights Association, has distinguished herself |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | through her passionate community engagement; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Durham has led STPRA since its founding in 2006; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the STPRA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | public about the rights of property owners and working to resolve |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | issues relating to eminent domain, water rights, indemnity, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | government regulation, and trespassing; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of South Texas, Ms. Durham |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | studied business at Texas A&M University at Kingsville and has 35 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | years' experience as a rancher; she currently runs the 1,400-acre |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | El Tule Ranch in Jim Wells County, and her previous experience |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | includes owning and operating a wildlife breeding business; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan has further served her fellow |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | citizens as programs chair for the Charity Department of the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Woman's Club of Kingsville; moreover, she is an active member of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | First United Methodist Church; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Committed to bettering the region she is proud to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | call home, Susan Durham is helping to make a positive difference |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | among landowners and others in South Texas, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commend Susan Durham for her contributions to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | success and happiness; and, be it further |
|---|
