| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Anna Christina Montes has been named a 2009 |

| 6 | 6 | | University of Texas at El Paso Top Ten Senior; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Presented annually by the institution's alumni |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | association, the honor recognizes UTEP's most promising graduating |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | or recently graduated seniors, who are chosen on the basis of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | academic achievement, involvement, leadership, and service, both |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the community and on campus; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Montes was |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | recognized for her achievements in her major, interdisciplinary |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | studies, as well as for her efforts in behalf of her school, which |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | include membership in the UTEP Miner Ambassadors and service as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | vice president of the Student Alumni Association and captain of the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | GoldDiggers dance troupe; this talented student has maintained a |

| 18 | 18 | | 4.0 GPA and plans to pursue a master's degree in special education; |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Anna Montes has demonstrated exceptional initiative |

| 21 | 21 | | and dedication in pursuit of her academic goals, and her notable |

| 22 | 22 | | record of accomplishment surely heralds a bright future; now, |
