 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Craig A. Patton has served the Socorro Independent
 School District with great distinction, and was unopposed for
 reelection as District 1 trustee in 2009; and
 WHEREAS, Committed to public service, Mr. Patton first served
 as a Socorro ISD trustee from 1996 to 1999; he was again elected in
 2002, and in 2005 he was elected to complete an unexpired term; the
 following year, he was reelected to another term in office, and he
 has served admirably as board president and vice president; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Patton is a graduate of The University of Texas
 at El Paso and the University of Houston law school, and he now has a
 private legal practice in El Paso; he and his wife, Teresa, a
 teacher at Sergeant Roberto Ituarte Elementary School, are the
 proud parents of Eric and Tyler; and
 WHEREAS, Through his unwavering commitment to his district's
 students and staff, Craig Patton has led the way in fostering a
 supportive and challenging education environment, one that gives
 students a vision of what they might attain if they strive for
 success, and that equips them with skills that will help them to
 build fulfilling and productive lives; as he begins a new term on
 the school board, it is indeed fitting that he be recognized for his
 accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Craig A. Patton on his service as a
 trustee of the Socorro Independent School District and extend to
 him sincere best wishes as he begins his new term in office; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Patton as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
