H.R. No. 2751 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Robert Edgar Shotwell of Georgetown, who passed away on May 6, 2009, at the age of 77; and WHEREAS, "Bob Edd" Shotwell was born to Cullen Shotwell and Mary Louise Carter Shotwell in the town of Eddy, and he went on to graduate from La Vega High School in Bellmead; he later earned a bachelor's degree from Baylor University, and he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Shotwell served as a minister of education at churches in McGregor, Waco, Dallas, and Abilene, and he further distinguished himself in that capacity for 26 years at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin; he contributed to the growth of all of the churches he so ably served, and he truly enjoyed mentoring ministers and teaching the Shotwell Sunday School Class; moreover, he was a valued member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown; and WHEREAS, Devoted to his family and to the service of others, Mr. Shotwell enhanced the lives of many with his faith, kindness, and generosity, and he will long be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Edgar Shotwell and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Lane Shotwell; to his children, Laurie Kriegel and her husband, Kirk, Carter Shotwell and his wife, Michelle, and Robbie Walters and her husband, Wes; to his grandchildren, Kari Kriegel, Kyle Kriegel and his wife, Jenni, Lindsey Walls and her husband, David, Jared Shotwell, and Robert, Rachel, and Russell Walters; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert Shotwell.
