5	5	WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Robert
6	6	Edgar Shotwell of Georgetown, who passed away on May 6, 2009, at the
7	7	age of 77; and
8	8	WHEREAS, "Bob Edd" Shotwell was born to Cullen Shotwell and
9	9	Mary Louise Carter Shotwell in the town of Eddy, and he went on to
10	10	graduate from La Vega High School in Bellmead; he later earned a
11	11	bachelor's degree from Baylor University, and he attended
12	12	Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and
13	13	WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Shotwell served as a minister
14	14	of education at churches in McGregor, Waco, Dallas, and Abilene,
15	15	and he further distinguished himself in that capacity for 26 years
16	16	at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin; he contributed to the growth
17	17	of all of the churches he so ably served, and he truly enjoyed
18	18	mentoring ministers and teaching the Shotwell Sunday School Class;
19	19	moreover, he was a valued member of the First Baptist Church of
20	20	Georgetown; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Devoted to his family and to the service of others,
22	22	Mr. Shotwell enhanced the lives of many with his faith, kindness,
23	23	and generosity, and he will long be remembered by those who were
24	24	fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it
25	25	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
26	26	Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Edgar Shotwell
27	27	and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
28	28	wife, Lane Shotwell; to his children, Laurie Kriegel and her
29	29	husband, Kirk, Carter Shotwell and his wife, Michelle, and Robbie
30	30	Walters and her husband, Wes; to his grandchildren, Kari Kriegel,
31	31	Kyle Kriegel and his wife, Jenni, Lindsey Walls and her husband,
32	32	David, Jared Shotwell, and Robert, Rachel, and Russell Walters; and
33	33	to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
34	34	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
35	35	prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
36	36	Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert
37	37	Shotwell.
