44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Robert
66 Edgar Shotwell of Georgetown, who passed away on May 6, 2009, at the
77 age of 77; and
88 WHEREAS, "Bob Edd" Shotwell was born to Cullen Shotwell and
99 Mary Louise Carter Shotwell in the town of Eddy, and he went on to
1010 graduate from La Vega High School in Bellmead; he later earned a
1111 bachelor's degree from Baylor University, and he attended
1212 Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and
1313 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Shotwell served as a minister
1414 of education at churches in McGregor, Waco, Dallas, and Abilene,
1515 and he further distinguished himself in that capacity for 26 years
1616 at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin; he contributed to the growth
1717 of all of the churches he so ably served, and he truly enjoyed
1818 mentoring ministers and teaching the Shotwell Sunday School Class;
1919 moreover, he was a valued member of the First Baptist Church of
2020 Georgetown; and
2121 WHEREAS, Devoted to his family and to the service of others,
2222 Mr. Shotwell enhanced the lives of many with his faith, kindness,
2323 and generosity, and he will long be remembered by those who were
2424 fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Edgar Shotwell
2727 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
2828 wife, Lane Shotwell; to his children, Laurie Kriegel and her
2929 husband, Kirk, Carter Shotwell and his wife, Michelle, and Robbie
3030 Walters and her husband, Wes; to his grandchildren, Kari Kriegel,
3131 Kyle Kriegel and his wife, Jenni, Lindsey Walls and her husband,
3232 David, Jared Shotwell, and Robert, Rachel, and Russell Walters; and
3333 to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
3434 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3535 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3636 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert
3737 Shotwell.
