R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Staci Rives has provided indispensable support to
the office of Representative Dan Gattis during the 81st Legislative
Session; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Gina Rives and Rick Murney, Ms.
Rives is a Houston native and is studying political science and
mathematics at Southwestern University, where she will begin her
senior year in the fall of 2009; throughout the session, she has
contributed to the work of the representative's office in numerous
ways, including bill research and constituent correspondence; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan competes for the
Southwestern University swim team and participates actively in the
College Republicans; moreover, she is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha
sorority, where she serves as secretary and publicity chair and
volunteers as a lead mentor for Operation Achievement; and
WHEREAS, By contributing many hours of hard work, Staci Rives
has helped to ensure that the constituents of House District 20 and
the citizens of the Lone Star State are well served, and she is
indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby commend Staci Rives for her service as a
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Dan Gattis
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Rives as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
