| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Staci Rives has provided indispensable support to |

| 6 | 6 | | the office of Representative Dan Gattis during the 81st Legislative |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Gina Rives and Rick Murney, Ms. |

| 9 | 9 | | Rives is a Houston native and is studying political science and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | mathematics at Southwestern University, where she will begin her |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | senior year in the fall of 2009; throughout the session, she has |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | contributed to the work of the representative's office in numerous |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | ways, including bill research and constituent correspondence; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan competes for the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Southwestern University swim team and participates actively in the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | College Republicans; moreover, she is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | sorority, where she serves as secretary and publicity chair and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | volunteers as a lead mentor for Operation Achievement; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, By contributing many hours of hard work, Staci Rives |

| 20 | 20 | | has helped to ensure that the constituents of House District 20 and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the citizens of the Lone Star State are well served, and she is |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby commend Staci Rives for her service as a |

| 25 | 25 | | legislative intern in the office of State Representative Dan Gattis |
