R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary represents a lifetime of
love and shared experiences, and more than three dozen couples in
Morrisdale Estates in Euless have reached or surpassed this
momentous milestone; and
WHEREAS, A planned community, Morrisdale traces it roots back
to 1961, when its first homes were built; the neighborhood's
beautiful natural setting and distinctive residences have fostered
a peaceful and friendly atmosphere, and original residents and
newcomers alike enjoy knowing not just their next-door neighbors
but many other fellow homeowners in the area; and
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the continuity that characterizes
Morrisdale are 37 couples whose enduring commitment to one another
is an inspiration to all who know them; they are: Bob and Kathy
LaPenna, Dale and Karene Anderson, Ron and Joan Caldwell, Philip
and Vera Dexter, Vern and Betty Suhr, George and Marion Midgley,
Henry and Eleanor McFarland, Gene and Gladys Vance, Till and Jane
Petrocchi, Mickey and Ruth Zimmerman, Roger and Mary Hommer, Mack
and Barbara Adams, Joe and Helene Hornisher, Maurice and Lillian
Labelle, Tom and Sue Stover, Bruce and Honore Ebert, Russ and Dottie
Rumney, Joe and Joan DePaola, Ed and Bunny Denari, Joe and Betty
Kopenhafer, Hal and Ethel Johnston, Robert and Dorothy Freer, Hank
and Illy Matuszewski, Chick and Carolyn Gillette, Travis and Nancy
Thomas, Ernest and Lynda Laukhuf, Bill and Georgianne Teague, Bill
and Betty Ries, Glenn and Ann Miller, Milburn and Reba Engelman, Bob
and Shizue Barrett, Steven and Maxine Cordas, Tom and Dee Coyne,
Harry and Joan Epperson, L. H. and Anne Marie Coleman, Lenville and
Martha Byars, and Paul and Terry Matthews; and
WHEREAS, These devoted couples are outstanding role models,
and it is indeed a pleasure to honor them and the exceptional
neighborhood they are proud to call home; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby recognize those notable residents of Morrisdale
Estates who have celebrated 50 years or more of marriage and extend
to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for these esteemed Texans as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
