55 R E S O L U T I O N
66 WHEREAS, Marsha Lister has rendered exceptional service to
77 the Sunnyside community in her role as recreation and facility
88 manager of Sunnyside Park in Houston; and
99 WHEREAS, A native Houstonian, Ms. Lister graduated from
1010 Phillis Wheatley High School and studied at Texas Southern
1111 University; she has been employed by Houston Parks and Recreation
1212 for 30 years and has received several professional honors,
1313 including her selection as Outstanding Recreator by the Texas
1414 Recreation and Park Society; and
1515 WHEREAS, Ms. Lister has established valuable initiatives to
1616 serve senior residents of Sunnyside, such as an indoor floor hockey
1717 league and classes in fitness and computers; she has also organized
1818 after-school activities for youth and developed scouting adventure
1919 programs in her work as a commissioner for the Boy Scouts of
2020 America; and
2121 WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Lister enjoys the love and
2222 support of her husband, Adrian, their son, Eric, and their three
2323 grandchildren; Ms. Lister has been a member of Gethsemane
2424 Missionary Baptist Church for 42 years; and
2525 WHEREAS, Through her dedicated efforts to make Sunnyside Park
2626 a true community resource, Marsha Lister has been a positive
2727 influence in the lives of numerous area residents, and she may take
2828 justifiable pride in a job well done; now, therefore, be it
2929 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3030 Legislature hereby honor Marsha Lister for her three decades of
3131 outstanding work as recreation and facility manager of Sunnyside
3232 Park and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
3333 happiness; and, be it further
3434 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3535 prepared for Ms. Lister as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3636 House of Representatives.
