| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Marsha Lister has rendered exceptional service to |

| 7 | 7 | | the Sunnyside community in her role as recreation and facility |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | manager of Sunnyside Park in Houston; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native Houstonian, Ms. Lister graduated from |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Phillis Wheatley High School and studied at Texas Southern |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | University; she has been employed by Houston Parks and Recreation |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | for 30 years and has received several professional honors, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | including her selection as Outstanding Recreator by the Texas |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Recreation and Park Society; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Lister has established valuable initiatives to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | serve senior residents of Sunnyside, such as an indoor floor hockey |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | league and classes in fitness and computers; she has also organized |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | after-school activities for youth and developed scouting adventure |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | programs in her work as a commissioner for the Boy Scouts of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | America; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Lister enjoys the love and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | support of her husband, Adrian, their son, Eric, and their three |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | grandchildren; Ms. Lister has been a member of Gethsemane |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Missionary Baptist Church for 42 years; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedicated efforts to make Sunnyside Park |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | a true community resource, Marsha Lister has been a positive |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | influence in the lives of numerous area residents, and she may take |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | justifiable pride in a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor Marsha Lister for her three decades of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | outstanding work as recreation and facility manager of Sunnyside |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Park and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and |
