 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Words cannot begin to express the heartache felt at
 the loss of Gregory L. Cocke of Weatherford, who passed away on
 March 14, 2009, at the age of 41; and
 WHEREAS, A highly regarded member of the Fort Worth Fire
 Department, Mr. Cocke was an engineer at Station No. 23; he had just
 completed a strenuous training exercise when he suffered an
 aneurysm; and
 WHEREAS, Greg Cocke graduated from Azle High School in 1986
 and received a bachelor's degree in engineering physics from
 Abilene Christian University in 1990; after deciding to make
 firefighting his career, he completed training at the Fort Worth
 Fire Academy in May 1993; and
 WHEREAS, Married in 1991 to the former Teresa Moore, Mr.
 Cocke was a devoted husband and the proud father of three children,
 Cora and twins Alissa and Robby; he adored his children, and he
 encouraged and supported them in all their endeavors; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Cocke loved family vacations and spending time
 in the outdoors; an avid hunter and fisherman, he was also an ardent
 computer technology enthusiast; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan held membership in the Fort
 Worth Professional Firefighters Association, Local No. 440, and the
 International Association of Fire Fighters; in addition, he was a
 valued congregant of the Azle Church of Christ; and
 WHEREAS, The community that Greg Cocke served with valor and
 dedication owes him a lasting debt of gratitude, and those who were
 blessed to share in his life will forever hold him close in their
 hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Gregory L. Cocke and
 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
 beloved wife, Teresa Cocke; to his children, Alissa Paulette,
 Robert Taylor, and Cora Ann Cocke; to his mother, Phyllis Cocke; to
 his brother, Randall Cocke, and his wife, Stefni; to his sisters,
 Lisa Hamiter and her husband, Dr. Tom Hamiter, Jeanette Cocke, and
 Melissa Perry; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Greg Cocke.
