| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dario Jackson, a senior at McKinney High School, has |

| 6 | 6 | | distinguished himself as a member of the Lions track and field team; |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, With an exceptional performance at the team's 4A |

| 9 | 9 | | regional meet, Mr. Jackson won the 200-meter race with a time of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 21.34 seconds; in so doing, he has earned a place at the University |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Interscholastic League 2009 Track and Field State Championships, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | where he will vie for the state title in the event; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Emerging as a notable athlete in the past two |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | seasons, Mr. Jackson broke the 38-year-old McKinney school record |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | for the fastest time in the 200 meters in 2008 and then set a new |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | mark in that race in 2009; moreover, he narrowly missed out on |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | qualifying for the state meet last season, when he finished third in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the regional competition; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through his hard work and his determination to reach |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the peak of his abilities, Dario Jackson has furthered McKinney |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | High School's reputation for sports excellence, and he may take |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | justifiable pride in his accomplishments on the track; now, |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
