44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Citizens of Frisco are coming together on the
66 weekend of October 16 through 18, 2009, to celebrate the first
77 annual Frisco Arts Festival; and
88 WHEREAS, Presented by Frisco Arts and the Newman Village
99 community, the juried festival features work from more than 100
1010 professional artists from the United States and abroad; and
1111 WHEREAS, This family-friendly event will also include booths
1212 providing samples from local restaurants, as well as local
1313 musicians and performers displaying their talent on the community
1414 stage and professional acts performing on the main stage; and
1515 WHEREAS, Proceeds will benefit a number of local nonprofit
1616 arts organizations, including the Frisco Area Children's Theater,
1717 the Frisco Chorale, the Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra, and the
1818 Plano Symphony Orchestra; and
1919 WHEREAS, Local arts festivals are an immeasurable asset to
2020 their communities, providing enrichment and recreation to those who
2121 attend and contributing significantly to the local economy, and
2222 this exciting new festival promises to become a much-anticipated
2323 annual affair; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby commemorate the first annual Frisco Arts
2626 Festival and extend to the festival's organizers, artists, and
2727 attendees sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable event;
2828 and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Frisco Arts as an expression of high regard by the
3131 Texas House of Representatives.
