| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |

| 6 | 6 | | and shared experiences, and Bette and Jerrell Huffman of Longview |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on March 19, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 2009; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Huffman were joined in matrimony in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1949 at Winterfield Methodist Church in Longview; they are the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | parents of two children, Becky Killingsworth and the late John |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Huffman, and with the passing years, their family has grown to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | include five granddaughters and five great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Huffman |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | retired from SWEPCO after 43 years of service and Mrs. Huffman |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | retired from Killingsworth Oil Company after 26 years; they are |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | active in civic life and at First Methodist Church, and they enjoy |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time with their dogs; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Huffman have enjoyed six decades of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Bette and Jerrell Huffman on the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them |

| 26 | 26 | | sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
