| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, May 7, 2009, marked the 50th wedding anniversary of |

| 6 | 6 | | Jerry and Janice Howell of Longview, and this joyous event provides |

| 7 | 7 | | a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey |

| 8 | 8 | | together as husband and wife; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Howell were joined in matrimony in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1959, at a ceremony held in Longview; through the years, their |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | family has grown to include their children, Mark Howell and his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | wife, Jackie, Ronnie Howell and his wife, Michelle, Karrie Melton |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and her husband, Kyle, and the late Rayme Howell, as well as five |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | grandchildren, Jordan, Mackenzie, Meaghan, Jonathan, and Hunter; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and |

| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Howell is |

| 17 | 17 | | a retired electrician and Mrs. Howell is a homemaker; in addition |

| 18 | 18 | | to meeting their work and family responsibilities, Mr. Howell |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | enjoys time on the golf course and Mrs. Howell is very active in her |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | church; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The five decades of marriage that Mr. and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Mrs. Howell have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | love and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | all who know them; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Janice Howell on their |

| 27 | 27 | | 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
