44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, May 7, 2009, marked the 50th wedding anniversary of
66 Jerry and Janice Howell of Longview, and this joyous event provides
77 a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey
88 together as husband and wife; and
99 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Howell were joined in matrimony in
1010 1959, at a ceremony held in Longview; through the years, their
1111 family has grown to include their children, Mark Howell and his
1212 wife, Jackie, Ronnie Howell and his wife, Michelle, Karrie Melton
1313 and her husband, Kyle, and the late Rayme Howell, as well as five
1414 grandchildren, Jordan, Mackenzie, Meaghan, Jonathan, and Hunter;
1515 and
1616 WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Howell is
1717 a retired electrician and Mrs. Howell is a homemaker; in addition
1818 to meeting their work and family responsibilities, Mr. Howell
1919 enjoys time on the golf course and Mrs. Howell is very active in her
2020 church; and
2121 WHEREAS, The five decades of marriage that Mr. and
2222 Mrs. Howell have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of
2323 love and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to
2424 all who know them; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Janice Howell on their
2727 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
2828 continued happiness; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Howell as an expression of high regard by
3131 the Texas House of Representatives.
