 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love
 and shared experiences, and Bill and Judy Stauts of Longview
 celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on March 15,
 2009; and
 WHEREAS, William Milton Stauts and the former Judith Ann
 Harris were joined in matrimony in 1959 at First Baptist Church in
 Mount Pleasant; they became the parents of three treasured
 children, Philip Stauts, Melanie Pigg, and the late David Stauts;
 they have also welcomed into their family a beloved son-in-law,
 Alan Pigg; and
 WHEREAS, Residents of Longview since 1967, Mr. and Mrs.
 Stauts are both retired; Mr. Stauts was supervisor of industrial
 engineering at LTV's Gregg County plant and later worked at Stemco,
 Inc.; Mrs. Stauts enjoyed a career with Bank One until her
 retirement in 1998; today, they are both active members of Oakland
 Heights Baptist Church, where they participate in teaching and
 music ministries; in addition, Mrs. Stauts teaches a women's Bible
 study class and performs volunteer work, and Mr. Stauts enjoys
 researching genealogy on the Internet; and
 WHEREAS, This devoted couple have enjoyed half a century of
 abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
 exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
 commitment; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Bill and Judy Stauts on the
 occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them
 sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Stauts as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
