44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the
66 death of Thomas Oliver of Baytown, who passed away on April 18,
77 2009, at the age of 61; and
88 WHEREAS, Thomas Oliver was born on Independence Day, 1947, to
99 Tom and Faye Malone Oliver in Dallas; he went on to become an
1010 accountant, and he worked for Bentley-Bratcher and Associates; a
1111 resident of Baytown for more than 30 years, he was active in the
1212 Baytown Lions Club and served as a committee member on the Texas
1313 State Board of Public Accountancy and as vice chair of the
1414 Department of Aging and Disability Services; and
1515 WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Oliver shared many
1616 rewarding years of marriage with his wife, Kathy, and the couple
1717 raised a family that grew to include two daughters, Lisa and Laura,
1818 and three grandchildren; in addition to spending time with his
1919 loved ones, Mr. Oliver enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid
2020 outdoorsman; and
2121 WHEREAS, Thomas Oliver led a rich and purposeful life, and he
2222 will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know
2323 him; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Thomas Oliver and
2626 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
2727 Kathy Oliver; to his daughters, Lisa Bryant and Laura Kennedy and
2828 her husband, Roland; to his grandchildren, Sara Bryant, Trace
2929 Kennedy, and Brayden Kennedy; to his mother, Faye Oliver; to his
3030 brother, Ronald Oliver, and his wife, Debbie; to his mother-in-law,
3131 Ellen Morse; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
3232 further
3333 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3434 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3535 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Thomas
3636 Oliver.
