| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | death of Thomas Oliver of Baytown, who passed away on April 18, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2009, at the age of 61; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Oliver was born on Independence Day, 1947, to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Tom and Faye Malone Oliver in Dallas; he went on to become an |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | accountant, and he worked for Bentley-Bratcher and Associates; a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | resident of Baytown for more than 30 years, he was active in the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Baytown Lions Club and served as a committee member on the Texas |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | State Board of Public Accountancy and as vice chair of the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Department of Aging and Disability Services; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Oliver shared many |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | rewarding years of marriage with his wife, Kathy, and the couple |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | raised a family that grew to include two daughters, Lisa and Laura, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and three grandchildren; in addition to spending time with his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | loved ones, Mr. Oliver enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | outdoorsman; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Oliver led a rich and purposeful life, and he |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Thomas Oliver and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Kathy Oliver; to his daughters, Lisa Bryant and Laura Kennedy and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her husband, Roland; to his grandchildren, Sara Bryant, Trace |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Kennedy, and Brayden Kennedy; to his mother, Faye Oliver; to his |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | brother, Ronald Oliver, and his wife, Debbie; to his mother-in-law, |
