| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Heritage Senior Center of Irving offers area senior |

| 6 | 6 | | citizens a place to socialize and participate; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Since its inception, Heritage Senior Center has |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | benefited the minds, bodies, and spirits of its patrons; membership |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | is offered to residents 50 years of age and older and allows access |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | to myriad worthwhile activities; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Among many offerings, the center boosts wellness |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | through health and nutrition expos, counseling sessions, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fitness classes, and enrichment through instruction in computers, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Spanish, and genealogy; in addition, members may advance their |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | creative skills with courses in writing, oil painting, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | woodcarving; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A number of special events are planned each month, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | such as book club gatherings, pool tournaments, and murder mystery |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | dinner theater; also a place for entertainment, Heritage has bingo, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | movies, and dance lessons; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Heritage Senior Center provides an important outlet |

| 22 | 22 | | for the senior population in the area to stay active, keep informed, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and meet new people, and this notable facility truly merits special |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | commendation for its contributions to the Irving community; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby recognize Irving Heritage Senior Center and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | extend to all associated with the center sincere best wishes for the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
