44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Heather Crosby celebrated a significant milestone
66 in her life when she graduated from The University of Texas at
77 Austin on May 22, 2009; and
88 WHEREAS, Born on February 14, 1987, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Ms.
99 Crosby is the oldest of four children; she was a member of the
1010 debate team and president of the National Honor Society at her high
1111 school and placed in the top 10 percent of her graduating class; she
1212 leaves college with two bachelor's degrees, one in government with
1313 an emphasis on American politics and one in history, which focused
1414 on European studies; and
1515 WHEREAS, Ms. Crosby has gained firsthand experience in the
1616 legislative process as an intern in the offices of two Texas elected
1717 officials; her first position was with the office of State
1818 Representative Dan Branch, working with the Texas Higher Education
1919 Committee, and she later assisted the office of State
2020 Representative Beverly Woolley; she plans to continue her education
2121 with postgraduate work at Texas State University; and
2222 WHEREAS, A source of great pride to her family, Heather
2323 Crosby may indeed reflect on her academic career with a sense of
2424 accomplishment and look forward to a future bright with promise;
2525 now, therefore, be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2727 Legislature hereby congratulate Heather Crosby on her graduation
2828 from The University of Texas at Austin and extend to her sincere
2929 best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for Ms. Crosby as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3232 House of Representatives.
