| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Heather Crosby celebrated a significant milestone |

| 6 | 6 | | in her life when she graduated from The University of Texas at |

| 7 | 7 | | Austin on May 22, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born on February 14, 1987, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Ms. |

| 9 | 9 | | Crosby is the oldest of four children; she was a member of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | debate team and president of the National Honor Society at her high |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | school and placed in the top 10 percent of her graduating class; she |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | leaves college with two bachelor's degrees, one in government with |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | an emphasis on American politics and one in history, which focused |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | on European studies; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Crosby has gained firsthand experience in the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | legislative process as an intern in the offices of two Texas elected |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | officials; her first position was with the office of State |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Representative Dan Branch, working with the Texas Higher Education |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Committee, and she later assisted the office of State |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Representative Beverly Woolley; she plans to continue her education |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | with postgraduate work at Texas State University; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, A source of great pride to her family, Heather |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Crosby may indeed reflect on her academic career with a sense of |

| 24 | 24 | | accomplishment and look forward to a future bright with promise; |

| 25 | 25 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
