| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeb Noel Bates celebrated a significant milestone in |

| 6 | 6 | | his life on May 22, 2009, when he graduated from Chaparral High |

| 7 | 7 | | School in Parker, Colorado; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, An intelligent and hardworking student, Mr. Bates |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | was born in 1990 in Germany, where his father, Major Lane Bates, was |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | serving in the military; a member of the soccer team at his high |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | school, Jeb Bates was voted most valuable player for his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | performance as goalie during his senior year, and he was also |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | elected prom king; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young man is a source of pride for |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the members of his family, and he plans to attend Augsburg College |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the fall of 2009; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Jeb Bates has distinguished himself as an individual |

| 18 | 18 | | of great ability and determination, and it is a pleasure to |

| 19 | 19 | | recognize him as he prepares to embark on an exciting new chapter in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | his life; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jeb Noel Bates on his graduation |
