H.R. No. 289
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is honored to
welcome Hamid Name Pineda, the mayor of Valle Hermoso in
Tamaulipas, Mexico; and
WHEREAS, A native of Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mayor Pineda
graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon and is a
certified public accountant; he became mayor in January 2008; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Pineda has been a consultant for the National
Chamber of Commerce and the Red Cross and served as state president
for the Committee on Business Cooperation; a Rotarian for more than
two decades, he was president of the Rotary Club in 1986; moreover,
he has given generously of his time and expertise to many projects
and organizations in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and northern
Mexico; and
WHEREAS, This notable leader has been recognized for his
myriad endeavors in support of education and has shown particular
sensitivity to the needs of low-income students; a respected
humanitarian and philanthropist, he has taken part in many
charitable activities through the years, delivering blankets,
food, school supplies, and medicine to people in need, assisting in
the construction and maintenance of the Center for Cerebral Palsy,
and bringing joy to children as a member of a group that provides
gifts, treats, and entertainment; and
WHEREAS, A man of great integrity, Hamid Name Pineda has won
the admiration of his community through his selfless efforts in
behalf of others, and his wise counsel, warm compassion, and
outstanding management abilities are an inspiration to all who are
privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st
Legislature of the State of Texas hereby welcome Hamid Name Pineda,
mayor of Valle Hermoso, to the State Capitol and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mayor Pineda as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
